GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS

REGULAR CLEANING

Use a soft, dry cloth to remove dust from the surface of the furniture. Accumulated dust can damage finishes over time, so it is advisable to do this at least once a week.

PROTECTION

For stains and dirt, use a damp cloth with a mild detergent. Avoid harsh chemicals that could damage the furniture material. Always test on a small, inconspicuous area first to ensure that the product does not cause discoloration or damage.

Prolonged exposure to sunlight can fade colors and weaken materials. Place your furniture in areas where it will not receive direct sunlight, or use curtains and blinds to filter UV rays. Some furniture is made from UV-resistant materials; this is specified on the product page. Consult a specialist or salesperson if you have any questions.

Prevent scratches: Use felt pads under objects placed on furniture and under the legs of chairs and tables to prevent scratches. Avoid dragging heavy objects across surfaces.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Keep furniture in an environment with controlled humidity levels. Wood can expand or contract with sudden changes in humidity, causing cracks or warping. Use dehumidifiers as needed to maintain a consistent level.

ADDITIONAL TIPS

Tightening screws and hardware: Furniture with screws and hardware tends to loosen with constant use. It is advisable to inspect them regularly and tighten them as necessary. This not only maintains the stability of the furniture, but also prevents further damage that may arise if the screws or hardware are loose. Use the appropriate tools, such as screwdrivers and Allen keys, to ensure that each screw and hardware is tightened properly.

Minor repairs: Furniture can suffer scratches, dents, or minor wear and tear that affect its appearance. For these cases, there are specific products on the market that make repairs easier. You can use waxes or furniture markers to cover superficial scratches. For dents in wood, you can use a little water and an iron to try to lift the compressed wood. In addition, a repair kit that includes wood filler, sandpaper, and varnish can be very useful for restoring small damaged areas. By following these steps, you can keep your furniture in perfect condition without having to call in a professional.

FOR SOFAS AND ARMCHAIRS WITH FABRIC, LEATHER, OR SIMILAR INTERIORS

ROTATION AND REDISTRIBUTION

To prevent uneven wear, especially on sofas and chairs, it is good practice to rotate and redistribute cushions regularly. This helps maintain a uniform appearance and prevents certain areas from wearing out more quickly than others.

KEEP AWAY FROM HEAT SOURCES AND SUNLIGHT

As with any other furniture intended exclusively for indoor use, it is recommended not to expose it to direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time or heat sources, as these can affect the composition of the fabric to a greater or lesser extent, causing it to lose its properties or discolor.

REGULAR CLEANING AND CARE

Most sofas are covered with synthetic fiber fabrics or blends of natural materials to ensure durability and resistance. Before applying any cleaning or maintenance method, it is essential to know what type of fabric has been used in the upholstery. If the sofa has removable covers and the fabric is machine washable, it is recommended to test wash one cover before washing them all. Always turn the covers inside out to prevent hard elements, such as zippers or Velcro, from damaging the visible surface of the upholstery. Sofas upholstered with cotton, linen, and wool are made of natural fibers that are lightweight and resistant, but also quickly absorb any liquid spilled on them.

In case of stains, use mild detergent solutions for textiles immediately after the spill with a cloth and dry the sofa with another dry cloth once you have rubbed the stain.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE OF OUTDOOR FURNITURE

OUTDOOR CHAIRS, SOFAS, AND ARMCHAIRS

To ensure your furniture stays in excellent condition for longer, it is advisable to take certain additional precautions, especially during the fall and winter months. Protect armchairs and sofas with a cover during these seasons – this not only helps extend their durability to the maximum, but also safeguards them from inclement weather. If possible, store furniture in a dry indoor space when not in use, which helps prevent damage from moisture and other environmental factors.

Additionally, it is important to remove the cushions from the furniture when not in use, at any time of year, to avoid permanent exposure to the outdoors. This simple practice can significantly prolong the strength and durability of the cushions, preventing them from wearing out prematurely.

ACCORDING TO ITS MATERIAL

Some chairs, sofas, and armchairs are designed to withstand direct sunlight, although this always depends on the materials used. Not all outdoor furniture is equally resistant to weather conditions.

Aluminum furniture: highly resistant to sunlight and humidity, it does not warp or fade, making it ideal for terraces, patios, and gardens.

Furniture made from polypropylene: Polypropylene is another material that withstands direct exposure to sunlight and moisture well. It is durable and maintains its structural integrity and color even when exposed to sunlight for long periods in the case of our designs made from this material.

Furniture with textiles: Textiles generally withstand direct and prolonged exposure to sunlight well. However, sunlight can cause discoloration and weakening of the fibers, leading to premature wear. To prolong the life of furniture upholstered with textiles, it is advisable to use it indoors or in shaded areas. If the furniture must be outdoors, use protective covers when not in use to protect it from UV rays. without suffering significant damage.

Synthetic rattan: Synthetic rattan is specifically designed to withstand direct exposure to UV rays, however, it is always good practice to use the furniture in areas where it is not exposed to constant sunlight throughout the day. It is also highly resistant to moisture. This material is not affected by rain or high humidity conditions, meaning it will not swell, warp, or develop mold or mildew. This makes it an excellent choice for humid climates or areas where furniture may be exposed to rain or dew.

Dining or coffee tables with glass tops: Most of our outdoor tables feature a tempered glass top that can withstand high temperatures and exposure, as well as humidity and different weather conditions.

FURNITURE MADE OF WOOD

Wood is a natural material that can withstand exposure to the sun, but it requires regular maintenance to preserve its appearance and durability.

It is recommended to apply a protective oil for outdoor furniture once a year to protect the wood from the harmful effects of UV rays. The protective oil helps prevent discoloration and deterioration of the wood, ensuring that the furniture maintains its structural and aesthetic integrity over time.

In addition, although wood can withstand sunlight, it is recommended that outdoor wooden furniture not be exposed to the sun constantly. Ideally, this furniture should be used outdoors under a roof or in shaded areas to avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight. This not only prolongs the life of the furniture, but also reduces the maintenance required to keep it in good condition.

It is important to note that some types of wood can absorb moisture or stains, which can compromise their integrity. Therefore, it is advisable to store wooden furniture indoors when not in use, especially during the fall and winter months or during the rainy season. By storing it in a dry, protected place, you prevent the wood from being damaged by moisture or inclement weather, ensuring that the furniture remains in excellent condition for many years.
